An ever changing view

This design responds primarily to limitation of material cost.

As a designer/maker starting out, it can be difficult justifying the use of quality materials that elevate an end product, especially if the work is speculative. This piece was designed as a response to this. Ten pieces of wood, in three different sizes, can be rearranged and held together by the force of a ratchet strap and friction to make a side table, a coffee table and a bench.

As a full-time cabinet maker, the scrap pieces I have slowly gathered over time can therefore have almost unlimited potential. Alternating between these uses and with the added potential that should I come up with another use, it can all come apart with the simple unbuckling of a ratchet strap. I am no longer bound by the material costs.
